We’re Not Barking Up The Wrong Tree

Today is International Day of Forests – did you know that?

We have previously blogged about our carbon neutral strategy and the things we are doing to reduce our carbon footprint, and are continuing our pledge to plant a new tree for every new client we work with. What we have also decided to do, is send a sapling tree to every client who recommends us to another organisation in an additional bid to help offset our carbon emissions.

It’s The Woodland Trust that has helped us fulfil our pledge with the tree planting and we’re pleased to reciprocate by contributing to their vision of seeing the UK rich in woods and trees, to be enjoyed and valued by all. This vision is regularly realised with the organisation of campaigns and projects throughout the year and they have just launched a great project to plant millions of trees across the UK to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War.

An International Day of Forests was set up to raise awareness of how vitally important all types of forests and trees outside of forests are.

They play a key role in people’s livelihoods, in sustaining ecosystems, in adapting and moderating climate change, and in balancing oxygen, carbon dioxide and humidity levels.

It’s because of their importance, not only here in the UK, but globally, that we at The Survey Initiative chose to plant trees. The thought that the trees we plant will grow as our company grows and will contribute in a positive way towards the environment makes us happy, motivated and more engaged in our work.
