The exponential growth of a leading Colchester-based staff survey and employee research consultancy, The Survey Initiative, has led to it being shortlisted for this year’s Essex Business Excellence Awards.

As a finalist in the Best Growing Business category, The Survey Initiative which launched in 2006, now counts the Telegraph, Scania, Natural History Museum, NHS Trusts, Vimto, Big Yellow Storage and Babcock among its clients.

Over the past two to three years, in particular, the company has achieved outstanding success, with over 80% of its business coming through either repeat business or referrals.

The Survey Initiative Director, Gary Cattermole, is understandably delighted to be a finalist: “I believe we can attribute our success to the fact that we provide outstanding customer service. This is supported by the feedback we have received from our client perception survey – 97% of our clients stated that the quality of our work and the service we provide has improved or stayed the same over the last 12 months.”

He continued: “Crucially, we don’t offer a one size fits all approach – each survey is tailor made to fit each client’s needs and all the work we carry out is charged at an affordable rate. We work with our clients to offer solutions that can meet the needs of organisations with tens of employees or tens of thousands of employees both within the UK and Internationally; speaking many different languages and working in various different cultures.”

The Survey Initiative regularly contributes articles to leading human resource and business publications and was recently the proud recipient of a Net Promotor Score (NPS) of 88, with the 2015 NPS Benchmark set at 58 for business-to-business service providers. [NPS is a management tool that can be used to gauge the loyalty of a firm’s customer relationships.]

According to Gary, the best is yet to come: “Later this year we’ll be launching a range of new services that will help organisations further improve their employee relations and workplace. We have also recently recruited a new member of staff in the role of business development and are investing in new technologies that will enable us to provide quicker and more comprehensive results and analysis.”

The Survey Initiative will discover whether they have been successful in their category at a special awards ceremony which is being held at Hylands House in Chelmsford on 25 September.
