Going net zero is a big step for any organisation, but it’s an increasingly important one to take. To that end we are delighted to announce that we have signed up to the Market Research Society (MRS) Net Zero pledge.

MRS net zero

After recently becoming Company Partners with the MRS we had the opportunity to sign up to the pledge, which they launched in 2021 to ensure that the research sector goes carbon neutral by 2026 – well ahead of the government’s target of decarbonising all sectors of the UK economy by 2050.

Global warming is a recognised threat to civilisation and it’s becoming increasingly obvious that everyone needs to take more responsibility.  We have a moral obligation to protect the planet not only at an individual level but a company level as well.  It’s something that employees and clients are more aware of, and it’s becoming more and more important to them too.

The MRS Net Zero pledge asks organisations to make four commitments towards ensuring they are sustainable by 2026. These include: to be Net Zero, publishing carbon emissions, collaborating across the sector and encouraging call outs by employees and clients on environmental concerns.

We already do some things that contribute to us reaching our target:  we are a 99% paper free office, all cleaning products are ethical/eco-friendly where possible, our company car is electric, business travel is kept to a minimum and we recycle.  Signing up to the pledge has given us an important focus to progress our efforts even further.
